I am so sorry it has been another couple of weeks between post! We have been busy around here and things are getting exciting! Right at the end of the school year we had a job open up on our campus. I applied and thought it was kind of a long shot, but I got the job! So after getting the job on that Monday, I turned around and went to a conference in Orlando that Sunday and was there for 5 days. It was a great experience for me, and I am super glad that I went. I was able to bond with the administration team, which I am now a small part of, and I was able to get a lot of great ideas for the classroom, and to help out the teachers! Jared did great being a single day for the week, although I know that my family and his checked on him all week long. In fact, I don't even think he had to worry about dinner the whole week long!
Anyways onto what you all really want to know about Rhys! Seems like in the 5 days I was gone, he grew up so much. He is on the verge of really talking and it saying so many words now. I love when he makes connections to things around him. Like seeing a truck outside and saying to me, Truck outside. It is great watching his little face light up when he figures things out. He latest and greatest is reading books. We can sit and read book after book for what seems like hours.
He loves helping Jared out in the yard. A couple of weeks ago, Jared bought a new lawnmower so Rhys was outside helping Jared put it together. Instead of helping Rhys decided to climb all over it. He thought it was going to be a ride, little does he know that in a couple of years, he will be cutting the grass and hate the lawnmower!
We bought Rhys a little pool for our backyard. Rhys hates it. I mean does not want to have anything to do with it. Can't stand it and would rather sit and cry than to have to get into it. This was very strange being last summer he loved it. Couldn't get him out of the pool and loved when we went to the Marina. Here are pictures of Jared and Rhys. As you can tell he is not having it....
As you can see Rhys did not enjoy his experience. So we thought maybe it is too big, and bought him a smaller pool. Jared is determined to get him to like the pool. The pool has sat in my living room for the last two weeks as Rhys has slowly warmed up the pool. When I left to go to Orlando, he wouldn't get in the pool at all. Jared put food in the middle of the pool to get him to get in it and he did. So when I got back imagine my surprise when Rhys starts playing with the pool and dragging it around the house from room to room. Well we brought the small pool over to my parents house today. Nothing, not having it again. Hated it. Wouldn't even go into the grass while the pool was up. Jared is heartbroken. I keep telling him it will be okay but for a swimmer I guess this is bad.
Tomorrow is Father's day and we hope that you all have a great day! Enjoy your families!
