Marley,
My mom really meant to post a lot earlier but she has been really busy and I got sick on top of that. I am going to try to recap everything for you, but I am only a couple months old and well my memory is that of an old man. (Just like my dad).
I have been sitting up a lot lately on my own. The lady from the daycare says that I am the strongest baby she has there. I don't really roll around to get places but I have figured out how to scoot on my bottom. That is pretty cool because then I can get the toys that I want without having to scream for them. When I am on my tummy for tummy time, I figured out that I can push with my feet to get something, you just have to dig them down onto the ground a little bit and it will help you to shoot forward. It is pretty cool, I moved around the rug the other day. I also love playing with my toes and getting my feet. My mom thinks it is funny when she is trying to change my diaper and I move around. We play a game when she changing my diaper. The other day my dad told her that I need to get some of my hair cut, so they cut it. Have you ever seen the movie Dumb and Dumber? Well, I looked like I could have been in that movie. It was awful but it is finally growing back out.
Things have been very exciting and busy around our house. My mom went back to school and I started going to the daycare every day. And because of that I get to spend some time with my dad in the morning.....just the two of us, I really like that. Then in the afternoons my mom picks me up and we do all sorts of things together. Sometimes we have to go back to school because my mom has things to do. Just this last week we went back for Faculty Follies. It was so funny to see her and her friends on stages acting silly. I laughed a lot.
Oh, my Nana and Paw-paw moved into a new house this summer, so we have been spending a lot of time helping them get everything put together. Hopefully we will have lots of fun parties over there. Maybe they will even boil crawfish or crabs for me to eat, who knows.
On top of everything else I got sick. I know, it is early but I was sick with a cold and then on top of that I got a stomach bug. It was not fun. I am not one to complain, and I like my bedtime and sleep but it is so hard to sleep with an upset stomach so I had to keep mommy and daddy up with me a couple of nights. I finally had to go to the doctor to get it checked out. They put me on some medicine to help the diaper rash---all the poop hurts after a while---and I couldn't drink my formula and they had to stop feeding me my cereal and food. I was upset but things are back to normal now. I sure bet my parents are happy about that one. Next week my mom said that I can start eating carrots, hopefully they are as good as she makes them out to be! Oh and when I was at the doctor they said that I was 16 pounds and I was 28inches. That means that I have been doing a lot of growing.
So Marley, as you can see I have been pretty busy and keeping my parents on there toes. Mommy and daddy said that you are going to come to Texas for a visit and I can't wait. I was thinking that maybe we can crawl around the camp and look at all of the places our dads used to hang out. Maybe we can do dinner....what do you think? Not a date though, your dad scares me. Here are some pictures to show you what I have been doing.
Here I am at Katrina's game. It was really hot out that day and the sun was super bright.
This is my activity center. I usually sit in here when my mom is cooking dinner.
Sometimes I am happy--but see what I am talking about with my hair. Imagine it pushed forward and I could be in the movie.
My dad was trying to get me to smile for him but I decided to spit up instead. He caught me in the act.
I am getting to be so big. My mom and dad said I was growing up too fast. Who knows.
Here I am playing with my feet. They give me great entertainment when I am in my crib waiting for someone to come and get me. Sometimes I think they are waiting to see if I will go back to sleep!
I can't wait to see you at Christmas time. Hope everything is going well for you and your parents, oh and the dogs too.
Love,
Rhys
