Football Season!!!

This past weekend was so busy and full of football!! Rhys was in heaven and was taught to yell touchdown and do a dance. Once we get it on video I will have to upload it, because it is too funny!

Things have been good around here. Rhys is going to be switching day care centers next week, which makes me a little nervous. But I think it will be better for us in the long run. I can't complain about the one he has been attending, they definitely show him some love there! I am going to have to think of something super special to do for them Friday.

Enjoy the week!!!!

Park Time

One Saturday I convinced Jared to go to Ikea.  Rhys was so good at Ikea that we decided to stop at the park on the way home. We stop at Memorial park and found this awesome playground with no one on it! We had it all to ourselves! Needless to say Rhys loved it! He cried so hard when we had to leave but crashed as soon as we got into the car! Enjoy!

As you can tell, he has such a great time at the park. Lately we have been taking him swimming. He loves it! I think we go just about every weekend down to the Marina, swim and watch the boats. Jared and I have to be so careful that he won't jump in without us watching. The other morning after we took him out he decided he wanted to go back in. It was a little scary. I pictures but I will post them later! Hopefully with the school year starting and the routine back in swing I will get better at posting!

Holy Cow its been a long time!!!

Here I am!!!! It has been a while and I wish I could say it is because we have been traveling and going on vacations but it isn't. I am just slow. Actually I sat down a couple of weeks ago and lost the whole post so I walked away angry and just never came back! The life of having a 1 1/2 year old. There is never any time to do anything because I am constantly doing something with Rhys and by the end of the day I am just tired!

The summer was pretty good. We didn't do much, as I spent a lot of time working and attending workshops. There were no big travel plans, and we just spent a lot of time here together. I had two summer school clases, one which met twice a week for four weeks. That class kicked my butt, but I am one semester down in grad school! Yeah!!

Rhys is getting so big. He is running now instead of walking, eating everything in sight, climbing into and onto everything. The other day he climb to the third shelf of the bookcase. He is seriously going to cause me to have a heart attack.  He is such a loving child, he is so happy all the time. Jared and I are super blessed. He is really into jumping right now. He will count to three and then jump. It is so funny. I will have to get a video loaded on here.

Speaking of climbing. One morning I was taking a shower and when I got out, this is what I found in my bed!
He had been playing in the bathroom but I found it had gotten quiet. When I went into the bedroom I found him up on the bed with the tv on. The tv was still on nick jr. from the night before so he was happily watching tv.  It was too funny!

Here are just some pictures of him playing at my parents house. He loves to climb up the rock wall and slide down. You will also see his love for corn on the cob. He loves veggies! He will usually eat those over the other food on his plate! He was so insistant on having the corn holders. He wouldn't eat his corn until we put them on the ends.

I have more pictures to share but I will put those in another blog!!

Lawn Cutting and Swimming

I am so sorry it has been another couple of weeks between post! We have been busy around here and things are getting exciting! Right at the end of the school year we had a job open up on our campus. I applied and thought it was kind of a long shot, but I got the job!  So after getting the job on that Monday, I turned around and went to a conference in Orlando that Sunday and was there for 5 days. It was a great experience for me, and I am super glad that I went. I was able to bond with the administration team, which I am now a small part of, and I was able to get a lot of great ideas for the classroom, and to help out the teachers! Jared did great being a single day for the week, although I know that my family and his checked on him all week long. In fact, I don't even think he had to worry about dinner the whole week long!

Anyways onto what you all really want to know about Rhys! Seems like in the 5 days I was gone, he grew up so much. He is on the verge of really talking and it saying so many words now. I love when he makes connections to things around him. Like seeing a truck outside and saying to me, Truck outside. It is great watching his little face light up when he figures things out. He latest and greatest is reading books. We can sit and read book after book for what seems like hours.

He loves helping Jared out in the yard.  A couple of weeks ago, Jared bought a new lawnmower so Rhys was outside helping Jared put it together. Instead of helping Rhys decided to climb all over it. He thought it was going to be a ride, little does he know that in a couple of years, he will be cutting the grass and hate the lawnmower!

We bought Rhys a little pool for our backyard. Rhys hates it. I mean does not want to have anything to do with it. Can't stand it and would rather sit and cry than to have to get into it. This was very strange being last summer he loved it. Couldn't get him out of the pool and loved when we went to the Marina. Here are pictures of Jared and Rhys. As you can tell he is not having it....

As you can see Rhys did not enjoy his experience. So we thought maybe it is too big, and bought him a smaller pool. Jared is determined to get him to like the pool. The pool has sat in my living room for the last two weeks as Rhys has slowly warmed up the pool. When I left to go to Orlando, he wouldn't get in the pool at all. Jared put food in the middle of the pool to get him to get in it and he did. So when I got back imagine my surprise when Rhys starts playing with the pool and dragging it around the house from room to room. Well we brought the small pool over to my parents house today. Nothing, not having it again. Hated it. Wouldn't even go into the grass while the pool was up. Jared is heartbroken. I keep telling him it will be okay but for a swimmer I guess this is bad.

Tomorrow is Father's day and we hope that you all have a great day! Enjoy your families!

This and That

Things have been so busy around here. It was the end of the school year so I have been busy closing up my classroom, getting everything in order for my kiddos to move on. At the same time I have been going to school and interviewing for new jobs!
Rhys has become quite the dare devil. He loves to climb on things and up things and if you aren't watching him, the next thing you know he will be on top of the coffee table dancing. I think he changes everyday it seems like there is always something different going on with him. One of his favorite activities right now is to call someones name when they are calling his. It it too funny and I am going to have to get a video of it soon.

Jared is trying to teach Rhys at a young age to love sports, especially baseball.
Rhys loves to slide and play on the swingset at Nonnie's house

And he has figured out how to climb up the rock wall.

I have some more pictures of Jared and Rhys cutting the grass and trying to swim. They will have to wait because I hear Rhys playing in the bathroom.....
