Easter!!

As I promised here are the Easter pictures! We had a great day. We spent the day with my parents at their house for lunch and had a little Easter Egg Hunt and then we went to Church with Aunt Jennifer and the girls, then to dinner with Jared's family! It was so much fun. Despite Rhys being sick, we had a pretty good day!

A fun time was had by all. Rhys is doing better. He is still not 100% but he is doing much better! He is still have stomach problems but his ear is not bothering him as much, which is so much better! Hopefully this weekend he will be up to par and we can spend some time playing outside--well really doing yard work.

Hello friends!!

Rhys' has been so busy lately! Okay, really it is mommy and I just haven't had a chance to update the blog as much. Things have been a little hectic around here. Seems like we always have something going on. Not too long ago it was Christmas, and Rhys was still crawling around. Man time flies by because not only is it April and my little bit is about to turn the big 1, he is walking, talking, and getting into everything! He is growing up so fast it is crazy!

Right before Spring break, we went to our friend Christian's birthday party! Christian is the little boy of the lady who watches Rhys during the day! Needless to say Rhys felt right at home at their house, played with all of the toys and wasn't amused by the fact that we were actually at a birthday party! The party was  train theme and Rhys loved it!

Then came spring break. At the last minute Rhys and I decided to go and visit my grandparents right outside of New Orleans with my mom. The car ride was interesting and Rhys did okay for the most part! He is a trooper! We arrived in one piece and we had so much fun! Rhys played with is his cousins, we ate great food, played outside in the garden and then we had to come home because daddy missed us so much!

After our fun trip it was time to get things done around the house, so Rhys learned a bit about yard work. I think Jared is anxious to teach Rhys how to cut the grass so he doesn't have to do it! Most importantly on Jared's to do list was to build me a box garden for vegetables! So Jared and Rhys set out on their important task. My garden is complete now, and is waiting the veggies to be planted! (It rained and then it was Easter) Once we have everything planted we will have green beans, cucumber, yellow squash, zucchini, tomatos, green bell peppers, sweet peppers, basil, and some strawberries! Yummy! I can't wait to start eating fresh veggies this summer!

Rhys decided his toys needed to go into the planter! He would throw his toys in the planter and then he would crawl over onto the other side! Once he figured out he was stuck, he would start screaming dada, dada.

Rhys started this week a little unhappy. Jared and I thought that we probably had too busy of a weekend or we spent too much time outside with him. By Wednesday the lady who watches him called and said that he was running a fever of 101.6. Jared left work and we made a docs. appointment knowing that something just wasn't right with him. We were told that he had an ear infection. My poor baby, he has never really been sick yet and this was just pitiful! So, they put in on amoxicilin. Wednesday night was awful, we got no sleep and his fever peaked at 103.4. Thankfully my mom was able to watch him on Thursday and Jared and I went to work. Thursday was much of the same and that night we still couldn't get his fever to go down under 102. I knew at this point that the meds should have been kicking in. So Friday when he was still running a fever and just not himself we took him back to the doctor! Turns out that he is just resistant to the amoxicilin. So onto another drug and this one seems to be doing the trick! He is so much better yesterday and today, which was great because it was just in time for a crawfish boil and Easter! (pics to come later!)

So, that brings me to the last of the pictures! Yesterday we decided to get out of the house and make our way over to Debbies for some crawfish! Rhys was happy to get out and we were happy that he was happy! Rhys enjoyed himself so much that we were a little concerned....

That's right, Rhys has on his beer goggles. Too bad there weren't any ladies to pick up!

So as you can tell we have been super busy lately! But don't worry I will post the pictures they might just take a couple of weeks before they get up there! Hope everyone had a great Easter and I have plenty of pictures to post from that!

A day in Galveston

Two Saturdays ago (I know I am really bad about blogging) we went down to Galveston with Amy, Randall and Tyler. It was super nice to walk around the strand. Jared and Randall stayed with the boys and played chess on the large chess board and Amy and I just walked around and shopped. A nice day was had by all.

It was such a nice day that Saturday. Rhys and Tyler sat in the wagon. Rhys never tried to get out he just sat so quitely and took in all of the sights and sounds.

What would be a trip to the Stand without stopping at LA Kings Ice Cream Shoppe.I think this picture is too funny. Jared and Randall were so wrapped up in helping Tyler flatten a penny that if you look in the background Rhys is just crawling off. So much for watching him!

Once we got home, we ate dinner and then decide that we would make smores outside in the backyard. So Jared lit a fire and we had a great time! We have dubbed this the old man face.

Tyler was crawling around like Rhys and Rhys thought it was funny to chase Tyler. These two were made for each other!

 But this is the best part of the night.....

As you can tell we had a very productive day! Things here are going great, and Rhys has decided that walking is for sissys, and well he is going to run. The kid is super fast! It is crazy that his is going to be one in a month. What a year!

I really had the intention of coming home from the Mardi Gras party we attended to post these pictures and wish everyone a Happy Mardi Gras!!! But with all great intentions, they were just intentions! So Happy Mardi Gras everyone!

Rhys has been doing great! We have been spending plenty of time playing outside as long as the weather is nice.  Rhys has started walking! I can't believe my 10 month old has figured out how to walk and is walking everywhere! Most days when I get home from work we walk to the mailbox to pick up the mail. He loves spending time outside.  Aunt Jennifer, Katrina and Marisol spent the night with us a couple of weekends ago and Rhys loves chasing after the girls and especially loves Katrina. I think part of that is the fact that Katrina is willing to do anything Rhys wants her to do and carries him where he wants. Rhys just points and Katrina does! It is too funny. Nana Julie came and watched Rhys so we could go out for Valentines day. It was a nice date night for Jared and I something that we don't do often enough.

I was telling my mom that I am so tired lately. I mean really tired. I keep thinking Rhys sleeps good all night long, why am I so tired. But some nights it is all Jared and I can do to keep ourselves awake past nine. Someone please tell me that it gets easier! I am defintely feeling like I have reach the point where I am just not that cool anymore! Anyways--here are a couple of other pictures of Rhys. We are so blessed, he is just a happy boy all of the time. He plays so well by himself with his toys. He loves to spend time with Jared and I and he will just come into bed with us and cuddle up to take a nap. I love that cuddle time!  He doesn't fuss that much and has such an easy going personality. I am thinking he defintely got that from Jared!  Onto the pictures!

Life of Rhys

Stayin Alive

Things around here have been crazy. We started back into our routine after Christmas and things just went downhill. Rhys got sick with some sort of stomach bug. It was awful. We went out to eat with our friends the Dimmicks and Rhys was being quite fussy. When we got home he started throwing up. So we chilled all weekend. On Sunday morning Jared got it by Sunday night,  I was down for the count. It was awful.  When we finally got that cleared up, wouldn't you know that we would get sick again this time with a bad cold. So it agains starts with Rhys, who proceeds to pass it onto Jared, who then gives it to me. We are still recovering!

In between that time, Rhys has been all over the place. We have been to birthday parties! Liam Adler turned one, and we went to Saints games at Nonnie and Paw-Paw's house, which we are sooooo looking forward to the superbowl on Sunday. We have been to church meetings, and school, and the mall. Then when things were just getting a little fun, cousin Tyler had a birthday party!  I tried to put Rhys in the bouncer but he wasn't having it. Amy took him inside and I stayed outside in the bouncer with Tyler. Rhys crawled to the window and started banging on it crying when he saw me! It was so funny. Throughout all of these exciting times Rhys has picked up on quite a bit. He is standing up now, holding on to things to walk around. He is getting more confident about himself because on Friday he started bending down and getting back up without holding onto anything. Last night, he decided he was going to take a couple of steps and today it is about the same thing. So I am sure that we are going to have a walker on our hands before the little dude is 10 months old. Not bad for a kid whose mom walked at 8 months and a dad who walked at 9 months.

We went out to eat the other night and I order Rhys steamed veggies. Here he is just eating the cauliflower without letting me cut it up first. He definitely loves to eat!

I am really going to get better at this I promise. There are a lot of things that we are going to do this year...really I promise!
